First lady, Laura Bush to speak at Flight 93 site

SHANKSVILLE, Pa. — Hundreds of people have gathered in western Pennsylvania to honor the victims of Flight 93 on the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Many brought American flags or wore shirts with a logo in remembrance of the victims of the 40 passengers and crew who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

First lady Michelle Obama and former first lady Laura Bush are to speak at a service in Shanksville, Pa., at a temporary memorial near the crash site. The first phase of a permanent memorial is to be completed for the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
